Afghanistan is becoming increasingly dangerous. And as a result of the catastrophic security situation, most international aid workers have since withdrawn from the country. For Peter Schwittek and his wife, Anne Marie, leaving is inconceivable. The courageous German couple had already begun to establish girls’ schools across the country while the Taliban was still in power. With amazing success. But now, their school project is facing its demise: the Schwitteks can no longer find the funding required to continue their successful model.
