THE ERA OF THE SUPERMODEL
A photo taken by Peter Lindbergh featuring the then-unknown models Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, Tatjana Patitz, Christy Turlington, and Cindy Crawford was the starting shot for the intense and short-lived golden age of the model industry: “The Era of the Supermodel”. Virtually overnight, the girls became international stars: their salaries skyrocketed to unprecedented heights, and they were more important than film or pop icons. This film analyses the phenomenon with the players of the time, and attempts to answer the questions of why these specific six girls made it to the top, what they stood for, and what human desires they fulfilled.
