Tita von Hardenberg co-founded the company in 1997. She is the editor-in-chief at Kobalt and is responsible for developing new formats. The online editorial team and experimental formats also fall within her remit. She works as a writer herself whenever she can.

Katrin Sandmann joined Kobalt in 2010 to set up a dedicated documentary department as editorial director. Due to high demand, this developed into the subsidiary ‘Kobalt Documentary’ in 2015, of which she is a partner. As the company’s chief writer, she regularly travels the world herself, particularly to Iran and the Arab world.

René Päpke heads the companies Kobalt Images and Kobalt Kreation. He also shapes Kobalt’s creative style in his roles as director and on-air designer. Kobalt Images is responsible for the group’s filming and post-production, whilst Kobalt Kreation specialises in advertising, design and high-end editing.
